Civil Defense. Hardcore Militia.
We formed in 1998 (way before the 2 other "Civil Defense" bands that have popped up in the last couple years). We were active for a couple years, then went underground for a while. During this time we regrouped, retrained, and refocused - and now we're back and full tilt raging!
Based out of Providence-Boston-New Bedford - Civil Defense is a six man squad that includes veteran and current members of bands such as Intent To Injure, Beyond the Embrace, So Automatic, Black Spot, Emission, Roswell, Voices Forming Weapons, and more.
We have a bunch of new material - and are recording our new LP as you read this - it's titled "In time of emergency." We live in darker days since our formation in 98, and while our first CD EP "Enough" dealt with a lot of issues in the hardcore scene, you'll see a new focus and mission in the new material.
We've stormed venues with a bunch of great bands over the years including A Poor Excuse, Last In Line, 9 Shocks Terror, The Strykers, Close Call, Fit for Abuse, Think I Care, Kill Your Idols, Good Clean Fun, Police Beat, XFilesX, RNR, Some Kind of Hate, No Warning, Freedom Force, and many more.
