As part of my goal to be more like Indiana Jones, I took the Motorcycle Safety Foundation course during the summer of 2000. I mean, what if I were being chased by a bunch of dudes with swords and guns and a motorcycle presented itself around the next corner? I'd want to be able to jump on and take off while they chased me in a commandeered taxi cab or something right? (Truth be known, this Indiana Jones goal is also behind the car racing courses that I've taken, the handgun course, my interest in art restoration and conservation, etc.) Anyway, I had fun taking the course and I ended up buying the 1983 Kawasaki GPz750 you see at left. Really fun bike with a sort of cult following. Next was the 2000 Suzuki SV650. I did a lot of work on that bike - see the list below. It was sad to see it go but I figured I could always get a crashed one cheap on ebay in the future if I was really dying for another SV. The reason why I sold it was because I saw the 1977 BMW R100/7 and I just thought it was the coolest bike. The previous owner had gone through everything and I bought it the way you see it. Anyway, that's my motorcycle history. Check out the links below for more info. Articles on rahji.com
