As a consultant for Breakaway Solutions, I worked as part of a small team of developers to create an online comparison shopping engine for Onvia.com and their partner, Netscape Communications. The system, based on a high-availability Oracle database and developed using ColdFusion, stored the entire product catalogs of all participating vendors. Software allowing the vendors' individual product catalogs to be synchronized with the complete product database was created using Perl, XML, and the Oracle XML Parser.
