doesn’t even have to be warm, jared – just sunny. you can put an oven out with snow on the ground and it will work.

krysti – do you mean the first oven on this page? that was a few years ago. this past summer, i taught a class on design to high school students who were in a summer program at uc san diego. i had them build the same style oven and they all worked great. if you mean when was the first-ever solar oven built, i don’t know but it’s an interesting question.
